Rewards credit cards can help your family save money if you use them responsibly. We have a few we particularly love! The key is to pay off the balance every single month, or the fees will outweigh the rewards!

The rewards cards we love right now include:
• Bank debit card: We rack up twice the points by signing (pay by credit) and then we redeem our points for gift cards.
• Old Navy Visa: This card dresses our kids, for free!
• American Express Business: This card has rewards that are automatically deducted from your next bill. This card is great for saving at the pump!

The one card I particularly love is the Old Navy Visa. It’s so easy to earn rewards! The key is to think strategically to earn the big rewards. I have put some very big purchases on my card, just so I could get the rewards. I normally would have paid cash, but why not use the card and get the kids some free clothing? My daughter’s braces went on the card and I use this card for all purchases that will be reimbursed, or paid off immediately.
Combine those rewards with Old Navy clearances, sales and other coupons pay very little for clothing! These rewards work online with coupon codes and free shipping, to save time and gas money.
There are rewards cards for just about everything these days. When you are looking for rewards cards, look for those that best meet your own needs. The card you choose should be free of fees and you should plan to pay it off every month. Look for cards offering the higher range of 1.5% to 6% in rewards.
What’s your favorite rewards card?
